PIHA and AIHL Combine To Form One League

Over the years both leagues have operated independently with many similar philosophies as well as sharing a common goal of growing the sport of Inline Hockey.  It is today at this venture point we are proud to announce our merger into one larger entity.

 

With some players and fans supporting one league versus the other and numerous others supporting both it only made sense for the two to join together to create a bigger and better league.  

 

The new Executive Committee has been formed and retains the key pieces of both leagues. 

 

As a league that will be moving towards a common goal the opportunities are endless.  With both combining together more teams in different regions teams will potentially have the chance to play brand new never before seen opponents.

 

As we move forward our name as one will be PIHA “Professional Inline Hockey Association” the Pro/Elite Division teams will be playing for the Founders Cup trophy and a cash prize.  The Semi Pro/Minor Tier 1 Division will be competing for the AIHL Cup and a cash prize. The Semi Pro/Minor Tier 2 Division will be competing for their own regional championships.

 

More details will be released in the coming week to Owners/General Managers of existing programs.
