IMPACT PIHA 2022-23 TEAM'S

by Philip Russo

The 2022-23 Season is upon us. This season we will have teams in both Semi-Pro and Minor Divisions. Both teams looking to go further then they did the previous season with the Minor Team losing in the Semi-Finals and the Semi-Pro Team losing in the Quarter-Finals last season. However the Organization won a unexpected constellation prize being named the PIHA 2021-22 Organization of the Year, along with Alvin Durning winning League Top Goaltender for the Minor Division.

Up first we have the Semi-Pro Team. The team finished in 2nd place in the very tough Northeast division last season. The team is made up of their normal core guys with a few changes. We added two power forwards who find the net regularly in any game they play in (Carmelo Stracuzzi & Rory Sheppard). They also picked up two defense specialist in David "Pudge" Kull and Drue Santora. Last but not least the team then picked up Mike Schrimpe to add to there goalie trio and lower the roster age avg down a bit. The boys open up at Skate Safe Dec 17th at 5:40pm vs the WT Flamingoes. Good Luck to the Semi-Pro Team this coming season.

Now onto the Minor Team. The goalie Trio remains the same as last season with the League Top Goaltender Alvin leading the charge and Kyle Dimascio playing his 2nd season. The team had a major shake up only bringing back 6 of last years players and adding some youth to the team and adding some past Impact veterans. We have high hopes this season with new players such as Josh Fontaine, Vinson Guigliano and Matt Geiser. Along with this bringing back some Vet's like Mike Prainito and Steve "88" Giardelli. The team is looking to go all the way this season and we look forward to this new exciting roster. The Minor Team opens up at Rapid Fire Dec 17th at 3:20pm vs Empire State Legends.
